Payments

Every payment on Mnadani runs through our verified payment partner, a Bank of Tanzania-licensed processor, and sits in escrow until the buyer confirms delivery.

1. Accepted methods

Mobile money — M-Pesa, Airtel Money, Mixx by Yas, HaloPesa.
Cards — Visa, Mastercard.
Mobile money only — M-Pesa, Airtel Money, Mixx by Yas and HaloPesa.
Mnadani wallet balance.
Gift-card redemption.

2. At checkout

The checkout screen shows the item price, shipping and the total you'll pay before you confirm — no processing fee is added. Nothing is charged until you approve on your mobile money app.

3. Escrow release

Funds sit with our verified payment partner until (a) you confirm receipt, (b) the 3-day inspection window closes, or (c) a dispute is resolved. Details in How escrow works.

4. Wallet top-ups

Add money to your wallet from mobile money. Wallet balance can be used on any Mnadani order. Wallet funds are non-interest-bearing and can be withdrawn subject to the limits your KYC tier allows.

5. Seller payouts

Released funds land in your wallet immediately.
Withdraw to mobile money or bank on the next working day.

6. Refunds

Refunds go to the original payment method by default, or to your Mnadani wallet if the original method can't accept a refund. Mobile-money and card refunds typically take 3–7 working days to appear.

7. Failed payments

Wrong PIN or insufficient balance — retry from the order page.
Bank / mobile-money outage — payments are held until the provider recovers, then auto-complete or auto-reverse.
Fraud triggers — our verified payment partner may reject a transaction; try a different method or contact support.

8. Installments

Selected listings offer installment plans: a deposit at checkout and scheduled instalments through mobile money. The item ships once the plan is fully paid unless the seller has opted in to "ship on deposit".
