1. Why we have this list

Tanzanian law, payment-partner rules, and basic user safety all draw hard lines around what can be sold online. This page collects those lines in one place so sellers know before they list.

2. Prohibited items

• Illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, and prescription medicines.
• Firearms, ammunition, explosives, and their parts or replicas that fire projectiles.
• Weapons whose sale is regulated (military knives, brass knuckles, tasers).
• Live animals, animal parts from protected species (ivory, rhino horn, pangolin scales).
• Human remains, organs, blood, tissue.
• Counterfeit goods and replicas that imitate a brand.
• Stolen goods, or items you cannot prove ownership of.
• Hazardous materials, fireworks, corrosive chemicals, radioactive materials.
• Currency, negotiable instruments, unmarked cheques, bank cards.
• Adult content, sexual services, escort services.
• Government or NGO uniforms, badges, IDs, and official documents.
• Personal data, mailing lists, social-media accounts, login credentials.
• Recalled or unsafe products.
• Multi-level-marketing schemes, get-rich-quick offers, gambling services.

3. Restricted items

These are allowed only with the correct documentation uploaded on the listing:

• Alcohol — seller must upload a valid liquor licence; buyer must be 18+.
• Tobacco and vapes — seller licence and age gate required.
• Motor vehicles and motorcycles — proof of ownership card must be uploaded.
• Firearms accessories (holsters, cleaning kits) that don't fire — dealer licence required.
• Cosmetics, supplements, and food — TBS/TFDA authorisation number on the listing.
• Medical devices — clinical purpose disclosed, importer documentation.
• Precious stones and bullion — chain-of-custody certificate.
• Digital services (design, tutoring) — must be delivered through Mnadani messaging; no off-platform payment.
