Seller verification

Last updated: 20 July 2026

Every seller on Mnadani is a verified real person or registered business. This page explains the KYC ladder — what each tier requires, what it unlocks, and what happens with your data.

1. Why we verify

Verification cuts fraud, protects buyers, and lets us follow Tanzanian anti-money-laundering rules. A verified seller ladder also means honest sellers can grow — the more you verify, the more you can list and payout.

2. Tier ladder

TierRequiredActive listingsPayout ceiling

Tier 1 · National IDNIDA, selfie, address20TZS 9,999,999
Tier 2 · BusinessBRELA registration, TIN, director IDUnlimitedUnlimited

3. Documents accepted

  • Tier 0 — a Tanzanian mobile number that receives our SMS code.
  • Tier 1 — a valid NIDA card or passport, a live selfie for face-match, and a residential address (utility bill or house-number letter).
  • Tier 2 — everything for Tier 1 plus BRELA certificate, TIN, and a director's national ID.

4. Review SLA

We aim to review Tier 1 submissions within 1 working day and Tier 2 within 3 working days. You'll get an in-app and email update when the review starts and when a decision is made.

5. Re-verification

We may ask you to re-verify if your account activity changes materially — for example, a large jump in payouts, a change of registered business, or a device change from a country outside Tanzania. Payouts may pause until re-verification clears.

6. What we do with your data

KYC uploads are encrypted at rest and only accessible to the compliance team. They're used to verify identity, screen sanctions and PEP lists, and satisfy law-enforcement requests where legally required. See the full Privacy policy.
