Shipping & delivery

Last updated: 20 July 2026

How orders get from the seller to you and what to do when something goes wrong on the way.

1. Who ships the order

The seller is responsible for shipping every order. Mnadani provides the tools (courier ticket upload, estimated delivery date, delivery proof) and escrows the money until you confirm receipt.

2. Courier options

Sellers may use any reputable courier operating in Tanzania, for example, Skynet, Wasili, Wakala, DHL, or intra-city motorcycle couriers. The courier is chosen by the seller based on your delivery city and the size of the parcel. The exact courier and ticket number are visible on the order page once dispatched.

3. Handling time

Every listing shows a handling time, the number of working days the seller needs to dispatch after payment clears. Typical handling time is 1–3 working days. If the seller misses their handling window, you can cancel the order at no charge before dispatch.

4. Rates by district

Sellers set shipping rates per district. Common ranges:

DestinationSmall parcelMedium parcel
Same cityTZS 3,000–8,000TZS 8,000–20,000
Nearby regionTZS 8,000–18,000TZS 18,000–40,000
NationwideTZS 12,000–25,000TZS 25,000–60,000

The exact rate for your address appears on the listing and again at checkout, no surprise charges.

5. Tracking & estimated delivery

When the seller marks an order as shipped they must upload the courier ticket or URL and set an estimated delivery date. You'll get an in-app and email notification with both. Use the courier's own tracking page for real-time status.

6. Proof of delivery

On delivery, the courier collects a signature or an OTP. The seller uploads that proof to the order page. You will also see a "Confirm receipt" button. Pressing it releases escrow immediately.

7. Delivery problems

  • Parcel late: Chase the courier with the tracking number. Contact the seller for assistance.
  • Parcel damaged on arrival: Photograph before opening if possible and open a return within 24 hours.
  • Wrong address — contact the seller immediately; couriers will attempt re-delivery for a small extra fee, paid by whoever is at fault.
  • Never delivered: After the courier's max window, open a dispute for a full refund.

8. Local pickup

Some sellers offer local pickup as a free shipping option. Meet only in a safe public place, verify the item before releasing the pickup code the seller shares with you, then use that code to confirm receipt on the order page. Never hand over cash the payment is already in escrow.
